Nothing bad happened, just memories…I wanted to write about how I “came up” with the ‘The Most Beloved of Earthlings’ but I changed my mind because the memories were too painful. Anyway, these memories will never be “lighter”: this is the title of a Romanian novel by Marin Preda. I took the liberty to “borrow” it as I felt it suits you more than the protagonist of the narrative; ironically so, in his case. The book is the confession of a prisoner, a former professor in Philosophy. It is about his life, love, politics, philosophy and imprisonment, under the communist regime. Reviews describe it mainly as a violent critique of the communist regime – which feels incorrect; firstly because the critique is reflective and philosophical – though the reality was violent, secondly because the book’s essence lies in his love life. I read the book during my teenage years and then forgot about it. It crossed my mind again at the end of the show (N/T), when I asked once again ‘Who are you?’ and the answer mirrored the title of the book. This brought to my mind (at that time) the closing thought of the book: “If there is no love, nothing is.” continued with the definition of “nothing” like the disappearance/ absence of love – “…like a turned mirror…. Your gesture is no longer reflected, no one answers. You are alone.” Nonetheless, I don’t feel alone anymore, I hope you don’t feel alone either. Infinite Love.
I trust you
