The seat next to me was empty; in the next one sat a girl whose profile and the position of her head were exactly like Degas’ little dancer statue. She was sitting with her back perfectly straight, at 90 degrees. When she fell asleep she didn’t move either — only her head turned slightly to the left. She got up maybe twice, so for most of the 12 hours she remained still in that position. I was tossing and turning in every angle and direction trying to find a comfortable position, all the while envying her and wondering how she could sit still for hours… I tried to follow her example… after a few minutes… I turned back to my tortured feline position… infinite laughs…
