…A couple, relatives of an acquaintance—married, but living apart. She works in the UK, while he lives in Cluj. Since the ’90s, this kind of social and marital setup has been quite common in Romania. I don’t remember exactly what we were talking about, when suddenly she got sick. It turned out she had tasted and mixed together almost all the famous Hungarian culinary specialties and more….Trying to figure out how to help I asked the husband what did she eat: some sort of pie with ice cream, two chimney cakes, gulyas, and a large langos with sour cream, onions and bacon….
