I wasn’t very knowledgeable about the symbolism of swans, particularly black swans. Therefore, I did some “research” and discovered more information than anticipated, along with many surprising aspects.
The psychological interpretation – which feels too cliché compared with the strangeness of the vision – apparently makes sense but it doesn’t feel right: hidden and contrasting aspects of myself or of different forces at play, the shelter means a safe space where I need to integrate these aspects/ forces, the restlessness of the black swans vs the peaceful white swans indicates imbalance between these aspects/ forces. The black swan struggling with communication could represent my subconscious trying to surface unresolved emotions, fears, or desires but I am having difficulty understanding or connecting with it…etc., etc., etc….
However I don’t see why my higher/ lower / whichever self needs four swans to express its hidden desires, a white and a black swan would have been sufficient. And why swans? Why not cats or squirrels, or koalas? (Infinite Laughs) The safe space and the struggle elements could be partially true but I am not trying to suppress them, as you can see I am very expressive about all of them – in 1500+ posts. I don’t feel the need to confront these aspects since I accept them. And I do have a safe space – which is You. And again, why swans?
